Are you anti-GMO? Are you anti-Industrial Farming? Are you anti-pretty-much-anything-you-don’t-understand? Then you should be fearful, for your anti-everything attitude is wrong and your efforts will be unsuccessful. This graphic explains why.

This graphic, in simple terms, explains that current leaders in the hog industry raise a bigger pig faster than the average global hog producer. Further, it shows that it is the industry expectation that marked improvements are ahead. Embedded in this graphic, however, is something more telling and should demonstrate clearly to the anti-everything movement how misguided they are.

One can gather similar data for grain production. We currently grow more bushels on fewer acres with less chemicals and fertilizer than ever before and marked improvements in this realm are also at hand. Why do that? Because it makes economic and environmental-stewardship sense. Producers who have bad economic and stewardship practices don’t survive, it is as simple as that.

Even though the anti-everything crowd is vocal and gets a lot of media attention, their efforts are largely futile as Agriculture continues to improve food delivery systems to a hungry and growing world population. The world can neither afford nor allow the anti-everything movement to be successful.

Once more, are you anti-GMO? Are you anti-Industrial Farming? Are you anti-pretty-much-anything-you-don’t-understand? Then you should be fearful. You should FEAR THE PIG!
